European Day 2011

European Day 2011

On Monday, 9th May our exchange group visited the celebration of the
European Day. This day is celebrated in 27 countries of the European Union.

The history of this day leads back to year 1950. Robert Schuman expressed a new
suggestion to organize an peaceful european relationship between european countries. This decision is known as Schuman-Declaration.

After a short receiving, we listened to speeches of D. Antonio Manuel Escámez Pastrana, D. Raúl Perales Acedo and D. Miguel Esteban Martin Montego inthe opening of the celebration.
Next we enjoyed the introduction of the european year of volunteers. We learned about the activities of volunteers of CES Santa Maria from Los Angeles and the International Association of Youth of Malaga.
Later the institutions of volunteer projects had to present their stay abroad. Also we had to do it. We introduced ourselfes and told about our work in germany and the jobs we have to do in our companies here in Malaga.
In the end of this event, we have been entertained by Estefania Gonzáles de IES Miguel Romero Esteo with some live played songs on the guitar.
The celebration of the european day was over after a Karaoke of the hymn of Alegría.

It was fun to take part in this event and learn the experiences of different volunteer projects.
